Gravel & Gas tours skip the straight highways to take you down the scenic way: winding roads, hidden gems, and unforgettable landscapes. Led by experienced riders, each trip handles the routing, support planning, and daily structure so you can focus entirely on the ride. This isn't a race or an endurance test; it is an intentional journey designed to connect you with the geography, the local culture, and a community of like-minded riders.
Itinerary
-
The evening before departure, your group gathers for a private welcome dinner in downtown Calgary. It's a good opportunity to meet your tour leads and fellow riders before the route begins. We use the time to complete final check-ins and paperwork so the morning starts smoothly.

We transfer from your hotel to our partner shop first thing in the morning to make any final fit adjustments to your bike. From there, we by pass the city hustle and enter the Cowboy Trail, a historic ranching route with the Rocky Mountains on your right and rolling farmland on your left.
After lunch at a local restaurant, we visit a UNESCO World Heritage Site focused on the history of the Indigenous peoples of this land, the buffalo harvest, and the unique geography of the area.
The day ends at a working ranch where dinner is catered and served family style. A fire is lit outside, the sauna and hot tub are ready, and a motorcycle film is playing in the movie room. Your private room and bathroom are prepared for the night.

Breakfast is served before we pack our gear and head out for a full day of riding. The route crosses rivers, lakes, and mountain passes through historic mining towns on smooth, well-paved roads.
Mid-morning, we stop at an underground mine to learn about the conditions early workers faced in this region. Lunch is a catered picnic at one of the many photo worthy lakes along the route.
The afternoon follows a secondary highway along the water before a short ferry crossing. The final hour of riding hugs the water's edge into Nelson. Check into your private hotel room, then the eclectic town is yours to discover, its sSaturday night where the patios, galleries, live music venues, and restaurants are buzzing with energy.

We leave Nelson and ride into a day of steep elevation changes, winding roads, and lake views. Mid-morning, we stop to explore a well-preserved ghost town before continuing south.
Lunch is a catered picnic near the cable ferry crossing. The afternoon features one of the most well-known riding routes in BC, a stretch of road with a high number of corners that local riders seek out specifically.
Tonight you stay in a private yurt with your own washroom. Dinner is prepared on-site by a private chef and we’re joined by a knowledge keeper to more deeply understand the landscape we’re been riding through.

The final full riding day covers the most ground of the trip. You ride north through the Okanagan, into the Monashee Mountains, through the dry terrain around Kamloops, and into the mountain country leading to Jasper. The geography changes significantly throughout the day — forests, desert badlands, and rocky mountain terrain.
We stop for photos and roadside snacks along the way. In Jasper, you stay in a private hotel suite with full amenities. The outdoor hot tub, restaurants, and patios are available for your last evening on tour.
-
440km
The final morning takes you down the Icefields Parkway, a world famous route known for its rock faces and turquoise glacial lakes. We stop in Banff and take the gondola up for a farewell meal as a group.
From Banff, one last hour of riding brings you into Calgary. Bikes are dropped at the shop and we arrange your transfer to your accommodation or the airport.
